Position Overview:

As a Project Estimator at Coteccons, you will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase by developing accurate and competitive bid estimates for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong connections within the subcontractor community, a deep understanding of the construction bidding process, and the ability to deliver precise cost estimates that align with project goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Preparation: Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • RFP Analysis: Review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to understand project scope, requirements, and key deliverables.
  • Subcontractor Engagement: Leverage your network to obtain competitive bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all quotes are accurate and comprehensive.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessments to ensure project estimates are aligned with industry standards and company expectations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect the true scope of work.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of all estimates, including assumptions, clarifications, and bid proposals.
  • Bid Submission: Lead the preparation of final bid packages, ensuring all required documentation is complete and submitted on time.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, cost fluctuations, and advancements in construction techniques to improve estimation accuracy.
  • CRM: Manage leads and sales process/progress on Salesforce


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on commercial and residential projects.
  • Network: Extensive network of subcontractors and suppliers within the construction industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (such as ProEst, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift) and strong knowledge of construction methodologies and materials.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to produce accurate estimates.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce error-free estimates under tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present estimates and bid strategies clearly and confidently.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve project goals.
