The Lead Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations and providing exceptional patient care. The Lead Medical Assistant oversees a group of medical assistants in the practice, coordinating their schedules, and delegating tasks effectively. Responsibilities include assisting healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring accuracy in patient records and documentation, as well as maintaining medical supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The role of Lead Medical Assistant also involves interacting with parents and caregivers, providing clear instructions and guidance, and ensuring a comforting environment for our young patients. The Lead MA utilizes their strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to pediatric patient care to ensure that the patient experience meets Premium Health’s standards of CARE: Compassion, Agility, Respect, and Excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and situating them in exam rooms
  • Collecting vitals (temperature, BP, height, weight, RR, etc.) and documenting within the EMR system
  • Preparing patients and rooms for procedures as indicated
  • Responding to patient medical questions
  • Phlebotomy and POC testing
  • Cleaning rooms between patients
  • Oversee instrument cleaning and sterilization
  • Coordination of medical supplies
  • Management of vaccine inventory
  • Lead various City and State reporting duties
  • Maintenance of autoclave
  • Follow up on Provider labs and encounters


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in healthcare, customer service or related position
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a pediatric healthcare environment
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred


Time Commitment:

  • Full Time: Monday, Tuesday 10:00 AM-6:00 PM,
  • Wednesday 12:00 PM-6:00 PM,
  • Thursday 11:00 AM-6:00 PM,
  • Friday 10:00 AM-1:30 PM


Salary:

  • Commensurate with years of experience and credentials, $23 - $26 per hour
