Building And Grounds Assistant (Custodial Services)Performs a variety of tasks related to maintaining the University's buildings, facilities, and grounds. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with some weekend rotation. (Weekend rotations are primarily during the academic year.)Essential Duties:Picks up trash and/or litter from University buildings and grounds; empties trash receptacles.May sweep and mop rooms and hallways; may dust and perform general cleaning of rooms; may clean windows.May vacuum and shampoo carpets; may strip and wax floors; may clean and sanitize restrooms.May mow, trim, and rake grounds; may remove shrubs and trees.May sow grass and renovate turf areas; may apply herbicides to lawn.May pick up and/or deliver equipment and supplies.May perform cleaning/washing duties in dining hall dishroom or pot and pan area.Minimum Qualifications:Requires a high school diploma or GED.No experience required.May require driver's license.This position requires the ability to successfully pass a Post-Offer Pre-Employment (POPES) physical.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of the use of either cleaning equipment/materials or lawn equipment/materialsAbility to understand and follow directionsA criminal background check is required.
