Summary:

  • Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Cobol/CICS Programmer to support a Payroll application for our US Government client.
  • This is going to be a 100% remote position.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.


Responsibilities:

  • Will be part of the Programming Team with responsibility of translating software requirements into design specifications and coding the new requirements.
  • Provide software development and maintenance support using COBOL, CICS, JCL, ISPF, REXX, CLIST and TSO.
  • Perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.
  • 5+ years of mainframe experience using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2.
  • Ability of designing, coding and testing software requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of the Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
