Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled COBOL/CICS Software Developer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing software applications using COBOL and CICS in a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.
  • Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers.
  • Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products.
  • Makes employment decisions, such as hiring and rewarding.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization.
  • Direct software development projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience with a BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust designation.
  • Experience with mainframe utilities, including TSO, ISPF, and JCL.
  • Strong experience with COBOL and CICS in a mainframe environment is required.
  • Experience designing, coding, and testing software requirements.
  • Desired: Exposure and knowledge of the AGILE methodology.
