This role is 100% onsite at Skybox Packaging in Mansfield, Ohio.


Job Summary


The Senior Corrugated Designer plays a crucial role in supporting customer, sales, and customer service needs through design, sampling, and specification creation. Responsibilities include generating CAD specs, print cards, Art for Approval, and tooling strike offs to ensure manufacturability and functionality. This position collaborates closely with sales and customer service to address inquiries and project requests, offering creative solutions and producing detailed CAD specs and art layouts.


Essential Job Functions


  • Design and create CAD specs, print cards, Art for Approval, and tooling strike offs to meet customer and sales requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service to provide creative solutions for complex packaging challenges.
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and all information is accurate.
  • Innovate solutions to meet customers' dynamic packaging needs.
  • Generate clean and organized CAD specs with a focus on ease of manufacturability.
  • Produce drawings and samples for customer and sales requests.
  • Assist in ordering cutting dies, print plates, and other necessary items.
  • Implement cost-saving measures related to corrugated and alternative substrate designs, machine automation, and tooling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Travel to customer locations as needed for productive discussions.
  • Stay updated on industry design requirements and recommendations.
  • Create specs and samples promptly with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Contribute insights and experience in discussions and support important projects.
  • Assist other departments as required, including Customer Service, Estimating, Sales, and Packaging.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience in an ISO or GFSI certified facility is a plus.
  • Proficient in ArtiosCAD or comparable design software
  • 2+ Years’ experience in similar role
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally in the US and Canada
  • Knowledge of Adobe suite of products is a plus. Illustrator. Photoshop


Qualifications:


  • General understanding of the design and manufacturing of corrugated products.
  • Knowledge of corrugated substrate, other substrates are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs is a must.
  • Experience in an ISO or GFSI certified facility is a plus.
  • Proficient in ArtiosCAD or comparable design software
  • 2+ Years’ experience in similar role
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally in the US and Canada
  • Knowledge of Adobe suite of products is a plus, Illustrator, Photoshop, Illustrator and Photoshop


Key Metrics


  • Accuracy of completed projects, specs, and samples.
  • Number of projects, CAD specs and samples completed.
  • Average time to completion for Design projects as well as PO entry
