In this position, you will lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be working with leadership within Development to drive origination and business development efforts that will directly impact NextEra Energy's bottom line. This role will focus on developing renewable projects located in the West Region.Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to Development leadership and providing your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as a collaborative and dynamic team project leader. You will travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project, and the local community. You will be able to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. This role will be based in Juno Beach, FL and will require the ability to travel ~30%.Preferred qualifications are:Experience developing renewable asset business opportunitiesExperience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluationsExperience with project valuations, commercial agreements, and tax abatementsExperience in leading cross-functional teamsExperience with implementing project management principles and process designExperience & proficiency with corporate finance principlesExperience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and WordComfortability in community engagementCandidates with prior energy experience, an MBA, or a relevant graduate degree are highly preferred. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesManages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive resultLeads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiationsResponsible for managing multiple and complex projectsCoordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projectsActs as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnectionConstructs contractual arrangements for project developmentNegotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractorsEnsures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirementsFosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the communityPerforms other job-related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Grad/GEDBachelor's Degree or Equivalent ExperienceExperience: 5+ yearsPreferred QualificationsNone
