Payroll SpecialistWe are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Redwood City, California. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in managing payroll-related tasks, ensuring accuracy, and addressing employee inquiries. This position requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and can work onsite most days, with the potential for occasional remote work after training.Responsibilities:Respond to employee inquiries regarding termination checks, pay discrepancies, and garnishments.Direct and coordinate payroll-related tasks to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll concerns and provide accurate information.Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce to support payroll functions.Assist with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes as needed.Ensure compliance with union regulations and other payroll requirements.Maintain clear communication using tools like Slack for internal coordination.Adapt to a dynamic environment and contribute to ongoing testing efforts.Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills to manage challenges effectively.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll or related roles.Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar.Strong understanding of accounting and auditing principles.Familiarity with union payroll regulations and 401k administration.Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills and the ability to ask questions to clarify tasks.Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude to resolve issues.Comfortable handling multiple priorities in a dynamic workplace.
