Job description

The Blade Technician II/III will be responsible for all rigging and de-rigging of suspended basket as well as assisting with general composite repairs. As a Blade Technician III, you will be responsible in following safety standards set by general industry and required to follow direction from Leadership and Management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands and implements Health Safety and Environmental Policies. (Safety Manual).
  • Understands and implements Industry standards (OSHA, NFPA-70e, Climb and Rescue)
  • Climbing towers and ladders at heights of 300+ feet
  • Off-loading material and inventory
  • Daily Inspection of all rigging/slings for suspended basket platform.
  • Rigging and de-rigging of suspended basket platform.
  • Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin and other composite materials as needed.
  • Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records, using computer-based service reporting tools and procedures.
  • Use of radios on-site where cell service is poor
  • Support site cleanup and site upkeep as directed by management/Leads
  • Load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment in a safe manner
  • Complete all required Company documentation

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or related trade school education
  • Must have or be willing to acquire OSHA 10, NFPA-70e, GWO BST, GWO BTT, GWO ART

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with Composites materials in any industry.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions in English
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations regarding LOTO, JSA, PPE
  • Must have the ability to climb towers, be able to pick up 50+ lbs., and capable of working up to 12 hours.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Technical Skills:

· Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

· Ability to operate power tools and hand tools

· Able to work directly with customers and other technicians

· DC/AC electrical skills

· Soft Skills:

· Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions

· Strong verbal communication skills

· Ability to meet strict deadlines

· Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

· Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 100 lbs.

· Ability to climb his/her own body weight, plus equipment weight, up a vertical ladder 300+ feet several times a day

· Ability to reach, climb, and/or grasp ladders or other tall structures

· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather

· Ability to work long and unpredictable hours

· Ability to travel away from home 100% of the time, including weekends and extended travel.

Ability to work and wear required PPE, including but not limited to full face respirator, Tyvek suite, safety glasses and hard hat

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

§ Is regularly exposed to the elements including and not limited to heights, extreme hot/cold, confined spaces.

§ Can be exposed to risks of electrical hazards, wildlife, pinch and crush hazards, trip hazards, and falling objects.

§ Can be exposed to chemicals such as oils, aerosols, cleaning products, fiber glass, degreasers, ect.
