As a Credit Specialist, you will serve as a key member of the financial operations team. Reporting to the credit manager, you will administer the accounts receivable process including processing new and existing credit reviews and the collection of accounts.


What you’ll do:


  • Processes new and existing credit applications including ordering credit reports, verifying bank and trade references, consulting with traders to determine credit needs and making recommendations to credit manager
  • Manage credit limits for assigned accounts including investigation, extensions and letters of credit ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions of any financing arrangement
  • Review daily orders in credit queue to determine which orders to release
  • Prioritize and handle collection calls to customer with outstanding balances
  • Process documentation of uncollectible accounts with collection agency
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure they have all required information to process invoices and payments promptly and address discrepancies or short payments efficiently
  • Communicate to credit manager about potential customer delinquencies
  • Provide credit manager with necessary information needed to prepare all internal reporting of collections efforts to management
  • Review daily cash receipts and ensures deposits are processed on a timely basis



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Associate degree; bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience may substitute for education
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of credit and collections
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be self-directed, make decisions and work under tight deadlines
  • Well organized, detail-oriented individual who is used to working in a fast paced, team environment
  • Computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Experience in B2B collections
