Job Description:
The ETE team sits at the nexus of our investment professionals and global markets, working closely with traders and portfolio managers to automate and optimize the execution of trades. We support high- and low-touch flows across a diverse set of asset classes, from equities, futures, and options to commodities, FX, and fixed income products. Our aim is to build a unified, best-in-class trading technology platform that can scale with the diversity and volume of our markets and give us a competitive edge when attacking new commercial opportunities.
Opportunity:
ETE builds and maintains a core trading platform that allows fund-aligned teams to develop business applications and workflows in a high-performance, reliable, scalable distributed architecture. This role will be focused on further architecting and developing application frameworks, cross-asset services, and best practices that can be leveraged by client engineering teams to expand their functionality and support new flows and products easily and efficiently. This role is critical to supporting ETE’s goal to provide market-leading order management and execution tools to the Asset Manager, while promoting ease of use, scalability, operational risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will:
Architect, develop, deploy, and operate new and existing components of the trading system
Propose designs to continuously improve performance, functionality, and stability of the system
Exercise sound software engineering judgment, charting a path amongst tactical and strategic tradeoffs to satisfy short- and long-term commercial goals.
Facilitate communication and collaboration with business users, compliance officers, and peer technology teams
Required Qualifications
Solid computer science fundamentals
Expert C++ development skills 8+ years
Experience with trade workflows ex (Fix integrations, Order protocol, understanding risk profiles,)
Experience building enterprise systems and low-latency applications
Strong understanding of Market Connectivity
Strong network and multithreaded programming skills
Practical knowledge of some message-oriented middleware (e.g., Kafka, Solace, LBM, Tib/RV, etc.)
Proven track record in software design and development
Excellent analysis / problem solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding and dynamic environment
Demonstrable interest in financial topics and a clear desire and motivation to learn more
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline
Python scripting experience
