The Project Engineer is responsible for the creation and launch of robust new products and improvements to existing products. The Project Engineer will organize and manage project and technical elements of projects to develop innovative solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, on time and on budget.


Compensation: Salary, Exempt with Bonus Eligibility

Travel: 10%-20%

Location: Newbury, OH Kinetico Corporate Headquarters

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops project objectives through collaboration with customers, management and cross functional teams using Voice of Customer (VoC), product performance requirements, and financial/timing targets
  • Manages cross functional teams across multiple countries, consisting of internal and external resources, to explore product design options and translates plans into executable product designs
  • Uses mechanical engineering expertise, principles and processes to create and deliver innovative, customer focused product solutions to the marketplace
  • Works closely with supply chain and manufacturing, across multiple countries, to ensure smooth transition of new designs into production
  • Prepares project status reports (using stage gate and other methods) by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information
  • Recommends actions to improve product performance, profitability, and time to market
  • Creates project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements
  • Maintains project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems
  • Carries out feasibility studies for new product innovations, including conception, design and prototyping
  • Validates designs and assures quality through the use of lab and field testing

What you will need to succeed:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing new products, consumer product design a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing technical projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability leading cross functional teams
  • Experience with design processes and tools; EDA, FMEA, DFM, DFA,

  • Must be able to motivate internal and external resources to meet or exceed customer expectations and deliver products on time and on budget

  • Must be able to organize complex work into executable action items that meet the required timing
  • Must be able to solve technically complex problems and have the ability to learn new technical concepts to support the development of new products
