Position Overview

The Tool Clerk I will provide for the receipt and return of tooling, ensuring accurate and current records of all tools issued from the Tool Crib. The role must routinely provide pertinent tooling information. You must ensure the accurate and secure storage of tooling. Must establish a clear line of communication with the mechanics to record and convey any concerns or considerations to the tooling supervisor.

  • Issue and receive tooling to and from authorized personnel and ensure proper transactions and paperwork are accomplished to maintain accurate records.
  • Check issued and received tooling to insure their serviceability, conformity, and correct application to the task.
  • Ensure all tooling is stores securely in their appropriate locations in an orderly manner.
  • Ensure all tooling is safe and within calibration requirements.
  • Maintain accountability on past due tools issued to personnel to ensure availability for other employees and shifts.
  • Perform basic repairs for company-owned tools and request material to complete task.
  • Be proficient in the employment of current computer systems and make accurate data entries in accordance with established procedures.
  • Have an understanding and ability to transport tooling to proper locations while maintaining safe vehicle operating practices.
  • Ensure the work area is cleaned, orderly and safe.
  • Perform any other duties and special projects as assigned by the Tooling Supervisor

What you need (Requirements):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a working knowledge of receipt, verification, and stocking parts.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Subject to continuous loud noises.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and/or service stands, bend, and stoop, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.

Preferred

  • One (1) year of aviation stores experience.
  • Valid driver's license and meet company requirements for insurance coverage for driving a company vehicle.
  • Knowledge of aviation tooling.
