Position: Senior RPG Programmer

Location: Knoxville, TN

Hybrid: Hybrid but there will be a lot of onsite time in the beginning

Duration: Full-time, Perm, Direct hire


Education: At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.


Note: The Client is looking for a senior-level programmer with DB2 and RPG skills


Description:

• Client has been going through a process of converting 18 years of custom code into RPG 4.

• They need a programmer that can not only assist with the conversion of various formats of RPG into RPG4.

• This person will need to be able to advise on best practices database modernization and movement to modern code outside of RPG.

• Client is looking at possibly taking everything over to either JAVA or PHP.

• The company is in expansion mode but needs to get SKU's from all of the warehouses on the same type of code and into a modern database.

• We are not looking for an RPG support person. We are looking for someone that has expertise in RPG as well as data migrations into modern platforms/databases.
