Job Purpose

In this role you will be responsible for the performance and maturation of the vehicle HVAC system and components as you work with a group of supportive and experienced engineers in a fast paced, continuous learning environment. As an associate within the Interior Development Division, you will be responsible for exceeding customer’s expectations by contributing to their “fun to drive” experience, as your contributions will impact the customer’s comfort each time they drive.



Key Accountabilities

  • Plan and oversee the development testing, validation, and evaluation of HVAC systems and components, on both a bench and vehicle level.  Serve as main point of contact for troubleshooting activities that involve multiple stakeholders and root cause analyses to be resolved.
  • Collaboration, communication and negotiation with other Departments, Manufacturing, Styling, and suppliers to ensure the vehicle targets can be met while meeting all regulations and technical requirements.    Summarize test results, review, and propose judgements on technical targets for review by the Technical Expert.
  • Setting vehicle targets and achievement methods.
  • Creation of detailed test schedules and activities.  Accountable to create test result reports and conduct verification reviews with technical leadership.
  • Benchmarking competitor performance and new technology research
  • Problem Solving to address technical concerns
  • Hands on activity – communicating ideas using bench tests or mock-ups
  • Project schedule and milestone management, coordinate team actions on project tasks, request additional team member support when needed, and identify potential areas for improvement. 



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer, preferably in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Automotive Engineering, or Industrial Design
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant engineering project experience on a university (Capstone or Sr. Design Project) or professional level
  • Past experience with data acquisition software
  • MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed



Working Conditions

  • Primary working location is seated at a desk
  • Limited lifting of parts and part dunnage maybe required on occasion
