, Job Description
This position is in support of the County of Sarasota Florida to provide care for those with special needs who are displaced in the event of a largescale disaster. This position requires the individual to be able to respond to a disaster with in 24 hours of notification to establish care with in 72 hours of notification. This is post disaster and will require the individual to be onsite until conclusion of the operation.The RN Medical Manager is responsible for the overall management of the medical operations of the shelter and is the deputy Team leader for the project. The Medical Manager will have administrative oversight over all nursing staff at the shelter.
, Qualifications
- Degree issuing institution and or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Graduate from an associate's or baccalaureate nursing program for Registered Nurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory accredited by The Accreditation Commission For Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Minimum five years of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office or residential setting.Current, full and unrestricted licensed as Registered Nurse in the state in which the duty station is located. Any changes to license must be reported to employer immediately.
- Basic Life Support
- Current and valid drivers license.
- Understanding of Nursing operations and care in an austere environment.
- Understanding of “Special Needs” populations (Preferred)
- Ability to navigate in an electronic work environment including electronic health records, web based training and communications.
- Knowledge of, and moderate proficiency in, common Microsoft Office programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Demonstrate strong organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
- Cultural competency and interpersonal skills.

- Shifts will be 12 hours a day until complete
Physically capable of performing duties and responsibilities as listed above.
- Ability to work in an austere environment exposure to heat and weather
- Frequent use of common office technology such as the computer, telephone etc.
- Ability to lift, carry and move up to 30 lbs.
- Travel to Sarasota upon notification

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
