The Director, Marketing Technology (DMT) is responsible for the definition, evaluation, architecture, implementation and stewardship of digital marketing technology solutions, and initiation/implementation of digital projects across a program of strategic digital initiatives. The DMT will work with the CIO and CMO, business stakeholders, and others key employees and systems and services partners to understand business opportunities, define business and technical requirements, identify and evaluate solution options, and select technologies aligned with the current and future state architecture and the digital transformation vision, strategy and road map.

The DMT is a key role in the pursuit of digital transformation to drive new customer and employee experiences and organic growth across all organizations. The DMT will contribute to and understand what the digital blueprint will deliver from a business value perspective and help deliver the value propositions that align with our organizations' business model(s).

The DMT will understand and own the digital solutions architecture that serves to ensure how a new system will fit the existing enterprise environment and contribute to the evolution of a future enterprise architecture environment. The DMT is responsible for contributing to and refining technology solution hypotheses and homing in on solutions that meet the short and long-term business needs of the company. The DMT role is well organized, highly flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to think on their feet with an ability to work as part of a high performing team. This is also a "hands on" role, with the DMT engaging in technical discussions with partners and vendors, and developers and able to design and create proof of concept and early prototype solutions using appropriate tools and technologies.

Primary Responsibilities
The Director, Digital Marketing focuses on solution-level decisions and analysis of their impact on business goals and outcomes. The DMT responsibilities directly derive from processes in practice:
* Analyzing the Technology Environment
* Analyzing Enterprise Specifics
* Analyzing and Documenting Requirements
* Setting the Collaboration Framework
* Creating Conceptual, Logical and Physical Architecture Designs/Blueprints
* Creating Solution Prototypes
* Participating in Technology Selection
* Controlling Solution Development and Delivery
* Supporting Project Management

Additionally, the Director, Marketing Technology.
* Leads multi-functional initiatives and teams with a collaborative approach to define/refine solution options and identify the recommended solution(s) aligned with comprehensive and evolving marketing and technologies strategies through multiple stakeholder discussions, proof of concept, prototyping, and organization team engagement under the direction of the CIO and in collaboration with the CMO.
* Build and maintain key relationships with all stakeholders across Group Digital Solutioning community, including key external partners, and with relevant business impacts.
* Perform a solution architect role and direct others on the team for digital marketing technology engagements including:
* Working with organization stakeholders and other team members in Design Thinking workshops to understand business problems/opportunities and solution options.
* Understanding of UX/UI stakeholder needs, and specific design techniques and their role in problem definition and solution design.
* Refining solution options to meet the business problem/opportunity.
* Exploring the major components and delivery mechanisms for digital solution options.
* Developing proofs of concept and prototypes to determine a recommended solution and gain stakeholder agreement.
* Works with the team in the development of User Stories, Business Requirements and Technical Requirements. Create user stories, conceptual and logical architectures, and technical constraints required to enable development of a minimum viable product (MVP).
* Working with the CIO and CMO to determine technology solution costs, resource requirements and vendor agreements/statements of work.
* Partner and align with IT domain areas, including data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, business applications management, business process management, and third-party platform providers to ensure holistic approaches that deliver quality, performance, scalability, supportability and sustainability of future solutions.
* Collaboratively provide ongoing digital technology thought leadership, technology insights and recommendations for emerging/innovative solutions. Acts as a disruptive change agent fluidly moving between transformation initiatives and day-to-day business as necessary.
* Guide and contribute to solution designs, in conjunction with technical development and support teams, ensuring a balance between functional and non-functional requirements to deliver business value.
* Work closely with internal/external technical and business Subject Matter Experts (SME) to translate business requirements into well-designed components and value-driven solutions that contribute to the incremental maturity of the business model and new capabilities across the organization.
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, privacy, and sustainability requirements.

Skills and Experience
* Deep understanding of digital solution architecture within complex IT environments that leverage SaaS, on-premises and co-hosted technology, cloud computing, data, and system components.
* Experience in digital technologies and their application to business problems/opportunities.
* The ability to understand complex business problems and commercial frameworks applying a logical, systematic approach to define an appropriate solution.
* Understands how to drive competitive solutions that address client business challenges/needs.
* Expert knowledge across a wide range of contemporary digital technologies and platforms; specific knowledge in Marketing Technology stacks, including Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Marketing Automation Platform, Campaign Management, etc.
* Ability to build and develop digital proofs of concept and early stage prototypes and translate to operating components of an evolving B2C technological landscape.
* Compelling writing and speaking ability; consultative skills.
* Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to command respect and to create a sense of trusted community for all team members (internal and external).
* Improving and assessing self-performance to apply new learning and knowledge.


Qualifications

* BA or BS degree.
* 5-10 years of equivalent experience in information technology with complex systems design and end-to-end development efforts.
* At least 3 years of hands-on solutions architecture experience working with digital commerce and operational systems in multi-geographic organizations.
* 3-5 years of experience with Emerging Tech. (IoT, Voice, AR/VR, AI/ML, etc.); hands-on experience in designing and developing consumer-facing digital engagement solutions.
* Rapid prototype development, and familiarity with iterative design techniques.
* Understanding of full technology stack and proven experience with architectural design patterns including Microservices, APIs, event-driven data flows, serverless, containers, connectivity, device management, etc.
* Preferred experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Customer Data Platform (CDP).
* Preferred experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
* Familiarity with industry security standards and approaches to designing and building secure IoT products, including but not limited to encryption, identity and access management, authentication, authorization, etc. is preferred.
* Experienced in designing solutions based on Cloud architectures, platforms, and APIs such as Azure IoT Hub, AWS Alexa skills, Cloud-based databases (e.g. Azure database), and raw storage (e.g. storage blobs, S3, etc.).
* Understanding of Big Data, Cognitive Services, ML and Data Analytics is preferred.
* Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in a matrix organization, influencing stakeholders in consultative mode.
* Experience working with Outsourcing and Consulting/Contract partners.
* Strong facilitation skills required. Must display vision and resiliency.
* Ability to perform as a lead technologist to masterfully assess and design applications, systems solutions, and interfaces for multiple systems.
* Skilled with broad, conceptual understanding of the technology architecture trends and directions coupled with demonstrated technical mastery for technologies, frameworks, and/or languages.
* Ability to influence and set technical direction.
* Skilled at contributing and communicating your expert knowledge of applications/systems and concepts to a broader audience.
* Ability to architect end-to-end solutions across distributed, host, transactional and business intelligence environments.
* Experience as a technical lead preferred.
* Experience with providing technical direction to delivery teams on key modernization and transition initiatives and ensuring that all architecture design and analysis work is properly documented, distributed, socialized, and persist for reuse.
* Knowledge of IT architectural paradigms and concepts, including Cloud Infrastructure, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), event-driven architecture (EDA), API development, and managed services.
