Your Opportunity:

As a full-time Metrology Engineer for TechSource, you will provide support to a new National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) flash X-ray radiography capability. This radiography capability is a multi-pulse linear induction accelerator, nicknamed Scorpius. You will support the engineering team by calibrating instruments, designing new tools or systems of measurement, and interpreting data.


Full-time hybrid schedule in Mercury, NV is required for this role (4/10 work schedule). You will be expected to come onsite for extended periods as much as once a week or as little as once a month. All travel will be reimbursed by the company.


What You Will Do:

  • Define, design and develop optical metrology solutions including hardware engineering, test software implementation, and instrument qualification
  • Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics
  • Provide assistance to the engineering department for troubleshooting on new assemblies/designs
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Retrieving items from other warehouses or offices
  • Support assembly and testing of other accelerator components


What You Will Need:

  • 2+ years of mechanical measurement industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience with calibrating instruments, designing new measuring tools/instruments, developing new measurement metrics, reverse engineering, testing components, and quality assurance in the metrology industry
  • Ability to work safely and follow all site safety requirements
  • US Citizenship necessary for role
  • Valid driver’s license required



Preferred skills:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
  • A background in aerospace
