Job Summary:

The Research and Development (R&D) Specialist will be responsible for innovating and improving cosmetic products by conducting extensive research and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. They will play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and maintaining the company's competitive edge. They report to the Head of Research & Development and collaborate closely with marketing, production, and regulatory teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and oversee the development process of new cosmetic products, translating brand requirements and consumer analytics into new formulations.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify industry trends, innovative technologies, and consumer needs. Analyze data to generate insights for product development.
  • Develop and test new cosmetic formulations, ensuring they meet safety and efficacy standards. Conduct stability and compatibility tests to ensure product quality and longevity.
  • Ensure all products comply with industry regulations and standards. Assist in the preparation of regulatory documentation and submissions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful product launches and adherence to project timelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of research and development activities. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with advancements in cosmetic science and technology. Implement new methodologies and technologies to improve existing products and processes.


Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years experience in the cosmetic industry, preferably in product formulation and development.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to cosmetics.
  • Knowledge of formulation science, data analysis, and research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
  • Strong ability to communicate and present complex information clearly. Experience in technical writing and documentation.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • A strong focus on innovation and the ability to develop new product technologies and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard laboratory practices and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) preferred.
