PeerSource is currently recruiting for multiple Datacenter Technicians on a Contract-to-hire basis for our client in Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
- Perform system monitoring, preventive maintenance, and problem resolution for Baseband, IF, RF Communications, and backend systems.
- Maintain system uptime at 99.99% with zero defects.
- Handle System Administration, Network Monitoring, new buildouts, network changes, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Identify root causes of technical problems, recommend improvements, and implement new products.
- Monitor system limitations, perform capacity planning, maintain equipment inventory, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage escalation and emergency response in a 24x7x365 environment, including monitoring power, HVAC, fire detection, and security systems.
- Proactively identify issues, create accurate tickets, follow escalation procedures, communicate effectively, and troubleshoot efficiently.
Required Skills
- 2-3 years of experience as a technician in SATCOM/Terrestrial environments (DSL, WIFI, Cable), knowledge of LAN/WAN standards, TCP/IP, and Ethernet configuration.
- Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV, and other Telco and IP protocol core network equipment.
- Basic electronics troubleshooting skills (e.g., using test equipment like spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
- Strong problem-solving, customer relations, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a 24x7x365 environment with rotating shifts.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident is required due to nature of work.
- AA degree, electronics certification, or equivalent military training. Certifications (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus.
- Unix/Linux systems knowledge is desirable.
