Summary

Frick’s Quality Meats is currently in search of a Supply Chain Specialist to support Supply Chain and Procurement. As a Supply Chain Specialist at Frick’s, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain operations for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for analyzing data, identifying trends, collaborating with suppliers to negotiate prices, plant production scheduling, and developing profitable strategies for the company. A high level of attention to detail is needed as well as excellent Excel skills.

Essential Functions

Inventory Management:

Monitor and manage inventory levels daily to ensure optimal production stock levels. Coordinate with production and sales teams to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.

Procurement:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Prepare and process purchase orders based on business requirements and inventory levels.

Process Improvement:

Analyze supply chain processes and identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve overall supply chain performance.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyze supply chain data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions. Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management. Utilize supply chain worksheets and tools to enhance data accuracy and visibility.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain product integrity. Work closely with the quality control team to address any issues related to product quality.

Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate key findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, sales) to drive alignment and consensus on supply chain strategies and initiatives.

Cross-Functional Team Support: Cross train to support back-up for team members including purchasing and scheduling.

Additional tasks that support our company mission “to delight customers and families with high-quality products and unmatched service” may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position scheduled generally Monday-Friday. Period close is 1 half weekend day a month (13 total/year and full physical count 2 full Saturdays a year.

Travel

Travel is not regularly expected but may occasionally be required. Employees are reimbursed for pre-approved company expenses and gas in their personal vehicles.

Education and Experience

Required

·        Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration and/or 3+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and production planning preferably in the food processing or meat industry

Preferred

·        Masters degree, Six Sigma Certification, and Lean Tools

Work Environment and Physical Demands

·         Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Carry weight, lift (move, transport, positions, put, install, remove): Occasionally lifts materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

·         Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (position self, move): Occasionally positions self to inspect records and files.

·         Must be able to freely move about the production facility by walking to meet employees

·         Must be able to remain standing for periods of time up to an hour at a time

·         Talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, exchange information): Frequently communicates with co-workers and supervisor(s); must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

·         The Supply Chain Specialist will primarily work in a typical office setting, but will require visits to the production floor where temperatures range from 22-45 degrees Fahrenheit.
