Job Description
Position Overview
Primary resource within Vallarta’s Asset Protection and Security for the development and management of departmental policies and proceses, SOP’s, job descriptions, training manuals, methods documentation, job aids, and manage staff for optimum performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Project manager, responsible for the development, updating, efficient completion of projects, updating managers, and executives, conducting research and analysis, delivering projects, etc.
- Develop, implement, and manage asset protection/security policies and processes for Vallarta.
- Prepare and write training materials, manuals, brochures, and other technical literature related to departmental objectives and initiatives including production from the Asset Protection/Security Team
- Oversee the preparation of illustrations, photographs, diagrams, and charts that will be used within the documentation process.
- Develop quality control for corporate, warehouse and store level processes and standard materials and associated documentation.
- Will manage office staff and all related programs.
- Develop and coach teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
- Anticipate staffing needs, talent plan and recruit – both long and short term
- Support the onboarding and development of AP and Security Team Leaders
- Build a close partnership with Store Directors, Supervisors and Executives
- Communicates with the Vice President, Director of Asset Protection and Security and Director or Function Managers to address AP & Security trends at stores and protect, properties, and warehouse, and corporate locations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data, as well as maintain files, records, and correspondence for meetings.
- Provides historical reference by creating, developing, and utilizing systems for filing and retrieval, recording discussions for meetings.
- Coordinates the planning and projects programs, and SOP’s.
- Manages and administers the Crisis Notification, including training team members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High confidentiality; must collaborate effectively with managers, as well as HR, Asset Protection/Security, IT, Legal, Operations and Executives
- Experience in creating and developing strategic policies and providing outcomes.
- Experience managing a safe and secure culture, including crisis response, a strong safety environment and crowd management planning, providing support to both guests and team members.
- Skills in interviewing, selecting, and talent management of hourly team members.
- Writing/communication style to target corporate and store level team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent people skills and able to influence others.
- Previous success in office management
- Consciously develop a culture of work that is compatible with Vallarta's core values.
- Strong organizational skills
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Type minimum 45 WPM
- Commute with stores, and corporate as needed, to develop written policies and procedures.
- Flexibility in schedule to work extended hours, including some Saturdays, to complete the job.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
- Two plus years retail management experience
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Understanding of English language; read, write, and speak.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Physical Demands
Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Some travel and overnight stays from time to time. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Manage several requests and situations at one time or simultaneously (multitask).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt-level position; the schedule would be based on business necessity. Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Monday to Friday (available to a flexible schedule based on needs). Commute to stores, as needed, to develop written policies and procedures. Flexibility in schedule to work extended hours, including some Saturdays, to complete the job.
