SCOPE OF POSITION
OSU Harding Hospital/East Hospital-Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our psychiatric emergency, behavioral health immediate care, inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs and the need for highly structured residential treatment. We offer specialty programs in womens behavioral health, addictions, trauma, and neurocognitive disorders. Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive addiction services for adults in central Ohio, offering specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing a substance use disorder. We offer traumatic brain injury specific treatment, the latest Medicated Assisted Treatment for opiate and alcohol use disorders. Talbot offers withdraw management (detox), Intensive Outpatient, partial hospitalization and many outpatient and continuing care groups. The Behavioral Health Clinicians in all levels of care serve as a critical part of our clinical team; clinicians are licensed chemical dependency (CD) counselors, social workers, clinical counselors who functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide counseling, psychotherapy, and discharge planning. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all treatment team members. The Behavioral Health Clinicians practice with adult patients admitted to the higher intensity units who have been hospitalized for debilitating or dangerous withdraw issues, some with co-morbid mental health conditions such as depression, mania, psychosis, and other conditions.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services, Talbot Hall, Behavioral Health, with the oversight of the Associate Director, is responsible for supervising Detox counselors, residential staff including a peer supporter, CD counselors, a recreation therapist, and Social Work IRPs and collaborating with professional members of the interdisciplinary Treatment Team. Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services- Talbot Hall, Behavioral Health also is expected to manage their own limited caseload of patients and provide behavioral health services to patient and/or families who receive inpatient psychiatric treatment. This position prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of all teams. The Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services- Talbot Hall, is largely responsible for managing the admissions of the residential unit including managing referrals and any male or female wait lists. The Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services- Talbot Hall is also responsible for maintaining clinical coverage of both detox and residential units during call offs, weekends and holidays.
The Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services- Talbot Hall, Behavioral Health, under the direction of the Associate Director of Social Work, is also responsible for promoting efficient and effective psychotherapeutic assessment and care management from admission to post discharge by directing Social Workers, Clinical and Chemical Dependency counselors and IRP Staff within service aligned teams. The Manager of Withdrawal Management amp; Residential Services- Talbot Hall, Behavioral Health works closely with the Associate Director, Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Attending Physicians and Nursing Managers to assure innovative, evidenced based assessment and psychotherapeutic strategies are used positively to impact patient care, achieve quality patient outcomes; provide quality staff training and professional development opportunities, improve service performance and reimbursement, treatment episode length, and minimize costs. May also be assigned as field instructor to OSU College of Social Work MSW students completing their internships at Talbot Hall.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field; Independent Ohio license to practice (i.e., LISW, LPCC, LICDC) with Supervisory Designation is required. A minimum of five years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also required. Experience and/or training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy) is preferred. Prior leadership and supervisory experience is preferred.
