Lead Capital Partners is seeking to hire an Investment Team Associate with 1-3 years of post-undergraduate experience to be an integral member of our growing team. As a member of the investment team, the Associate will play a key role in evaluating new investment opportunities, underwriting and structuring investments, supporting due diligence, and monitoring current portfolio companies. The Associate will work with portfolio company executives (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, etc.) and will support Lead’s Principals in the day-to-day management of Lead Capital and its portfolio companies. 

 

The ideal candidate will have investment transaction experience, either in investment banking or private equity, and possess the ability to evaluate, analyze and synthesize investment opportunities. The candidate should be able to effectively quantify and communicate investment strengths, along with related risks and mitigating factors. Candidates must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and on small deal teams with minimal oversight. The position requires the Associate to work from Lead’s corporate offices in Nashville, TN.


Founded in 2011, Lead Capital is a lower middle market, healthcare-focused private equity fund based in Nashville, TN. Lead partners with healthcare services businesses with clear growth potential and strong customer value propositions. Leveraging our team’s industry network and expertise, we work closely with founders and management teams to build long term value.

 

Position Responsibilities:

·       Supporting all aspects of the investment process including analyzing, evaluating and executing new private equity investment opportunities

·       Conducting due diligence and analytical support on potential investments, including participating in meetings with intermediaries and the management teams of prospect companies

·       Researching investment targets’ competitive position, market size and industry dynamics

·       Building financial models and conducting sensitivity analyses

·       Distilling financial analyses and research findings into reports and presentations that can be used to facilitate investment and business decisions

·       Working with third party due diligence providers, including legal, accounting, regulatory and industry consultants

·       Assisting with the preparation of investment memos and supporting the presentation of investment recommendations to Lead’s Principals and co-investors

·       Ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance, including creating and tracking KPIs

·       Maintaining timely and accurate investor presentations, reports and valuation materials 

·       Initiating and maintaining outbound deal sourcing and marketing efforts via phone, email and LinkedIn

 

Qualifications:

·       Team player with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment

·       Strong integrity and professionalism

·       Positive attitude, energy and overall enthusiasm for private assets, investing and financial analytics

·       1-3 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking or private equity

·       Undergraduate degree with a strong record of academic achievement

·       Strong reference check(s) from current / previous employer(s)

·       Proven understanding of accounting / balance sheet analysis, finance and financial markets

·       Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

·       Exceptional interpersonal and quantitative skill set

·       Self-starter with the ability to work in a lean team environment
