As a Mechanical Engineer - Product Improvement

This role will be instrumental in enhancing the functionality and efficiency of our mechanical equipment. Here's a breakdown of your responsibilities and the qualifications we seek:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identifying and implementing product improvements: You'll assess existing products to pinpoint areas for enhancement and cost reduction, then execute these improvements effectively.
  2. Collaborating across departments: Working closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless alignment and successful implementation of enhancements.
  3. Selecting parts, materials, and processes: Your role involves choosing the right components, materials, and manufacturing methods to ensure product reliability and functionality.
  4. Validating concepts through analysis and testing: Conducting thorough analysis and testing to validate the feasibility of proposed improvements, including designing necessary test fixtures and instrumentation.
  5. Designing parts and assemblies: Using your mechanical design expertise to develop parts and assemblies, selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
  6. Managing multiple projects: Leading and participating in multiple projects concurrently, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Experience: You should have at least 3 years of experience in Product Support or Project Engineering, preferably in a mechanical engineering role.
  2. Education: A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Design is required.
  3. Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Creo) and the MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is necessary.
  4. Attributes: We seek proactive, creative individuals with strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Additional 3-5 years of experience in product or machine design.
  2. Demonstrated Project Management skills.
  3. Expertise in sheet metal design, mechanism design, machined metal parts, injection molded plastic parts, material selection, and system integration.
  4. Experience in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
