POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for inspection, installation and repair of machines used for production and within the tool room and maintenance machining areas. In addition, build and re-build equipment for various manufacturing needs.

Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job descriptionFollow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipmentFollow specified maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and toolsUtilize Plex to document appropriate downtime codes, manage and complete work ordersTroubleshoot, isolate and repair manufacturing machinery, equipment, and systemsUse the following equipment safely: hand tools; hand and surface grinders; wheel puller; torches; pipe threader; hydraulic jack; welders; scissor lift; boom lift; lathe; forklift; milling machine; and drill pressesHelp develop specific maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production equipment and toolsProactively participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product qualityBasic knowledge of welding applications (Mig, Spot, Stud, etc.)Perform preventative maintenance and provide input on updates to preventative maintenance schedules (with guidance from a Weld Maintenance Mechanic II or III)Basic level robotic experience (robot movements, navigate/troubleshoot common basic level issues utilizing the teach pendant)Basic level knowledge of lubrication processes – functionality, correct type, when to useAbility to use common hand measuring tools – calipers, micrometers, indicators, feeler gages

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.High School Diploma or General Educational DevelopmentProficient with Microsoft ApplicationsMinimum 2 years of Machine Repair experiencePneumatics and Hydraulics experienceBasic understanding of relevant Robotic controls and processesStrong communication and time management skillsCertify and maintain Forklift and Scissor Lift Licenses issued by Challenge ManufacturingReliability regarding attendance and performanceAdhere to all safety rules of the plant – including PPE requirements
