Position Overview:

The Payroll Supervisor is directly responsible for managing the timely processing of North American payrolls and ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions. The Payroll Supervisor ensures that all earnings are appropriately paid to employees and confirm that taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions are withheld and in compliance with Federal, State, and local agencies. The Payroll Supervisor makes day-to-day decisions within or for this small team. This role will have thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.

How you will contribute:

  • Oversee the processing of the Company’s North American, multi-jurisdiction payrolls (US and Canada)
  • Audits payroll previews before transmission
  • Understand statutory tax withholding requirements and partner with Dayforce (Ceridian) Tax to ensure correct payroll calculations for all tax jurisdictions where necessary and applicable
  • Interprets pay policies (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
  • Lead and review the activities in processing all payrolls
  • Oversee and assist where necessary all internal and external audits related to payroll, including Workers Compensation, and corporate tax filings.
  • Ensure payroll process meet SOX compliance requirements.
  • Stay current with Payroll regulation law changes
  • Perform necessary compliance checks that payroll and HRIS system match and accounts balance
  • Expert knowledge of Dayforce payroll (preferred), timesheets, year-end modules
  • Perform analysis with large data sets, audits, reconciliations, v-lookups, data edits and complex calculations.
  • Resolve and respond to inquiries regarding pay and timesheets
  • Support Global Payroll Operations as needed
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently to set and accomplish goals, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Acute attention to detail, well organized, and effective time management skills
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • High degree of professionalism is a must
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments in a fast-paced and energetic environment

What will make you successful:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience and a strong knowledge of all payroll matters (Required)
  • Previous experience with payroll systems, preferably Dayforce.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong experience reconciling and auditing data.
  • Ability to produce, manipulate, and interpret high volumes of complex data.
  • A strong knowledge of payroll, tax, and pensions is key to success.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • An excellent collaborator, building relationships and managing key stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
