Overview: Seeking experienced NYC Tour Guides for our client—a major new attraction opening in Times Square this fall As a Tour Guide, you will introduce visitors to the attraction’s many offerings and share information on the history of the building and neighborhood.Full and Part Time opportunities availableResponsibilities:Greet all guests as they enter assigned areasEnsure safety of all guests while waiting on tour or in assigned areasProvide facts and historical information about the city and visible landmarks,Point out features of interest, speaking at length with regard, and answering related questionsConduct in-depth, specialized talks and walking toursProvide the highest level of customer service for the guest, resolving issues, and referring to any issue that is unable to be satisfactorily addressed to a supervisor-/leader-on-dutyCreate and prepare specified tour material as neededPerform and present information in a concise, legible manner to guests – speaking clearly and loudly with a commanding presence is a mustWork non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, and holidays – as necessaryPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training preferredAn NYC Sightseeing License is preferred but not requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishFluency in a language other than English is a major plusMinimum of 3 years Tour Guide or related experience, preferably in an attraction, entertainment, or hospitality environmentStrong existing knowledge of NYC history and landmarksMust be naturally personable, friendly, and welcoming and possess the highest level of demonstrated professionalism and customer serviceA fast learner who can absorb historical facts and data quicklySkilled in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Excel; PowerPoint; Word) – interest and proficiency in interactive presentations and social media a plusPart time availability – At least 15 hours per week, mainly on afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and holidaysFull time availability – 40 hours per week over 5 shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
