Primary individuals served by the MCAT/MCR team are individuals who demonstrate a need for crisis intervention and/or stabilization services or who have demonstrated a medical necessity for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Priority is given to referrals from DCRs, PSHMC Psychiatric Triage, First Responders, Hospital Emergency Departments, and others with concerns about an individual who may be at risk for inpatient psychiatric admission or intervention and stabilization services. The MCAT/MCR Team serves individuals who frequently access law enforcement, emergency departments and the legal system. Individuals served may have a co-occurring disorder and might also be homeless.

MCAT will operate from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., 5 days a week and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 7pm.

The supervisor of mobile crisis response teams provides direct supervision of assigned staff and participates in planning and evaluation of the program. The supervisor trains and supervises staff to ensure compliance and implementation of program goals and objectives. The supervisor provides consultation and education to other FBH staff and the community and supports the operations of mobile crisis response in the provision of crisis intervention and evaluation services for youth, adults and families in a behavioral health crisis. Mobile crisis response services provide rapid response, assessment services, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, linkage to requested/necessary resources and appropriate community-based mental health and SUD treatment services for ongoing treatment and follow-up. Mobile crisis response services are primarily provided in the community. Engagement and ancillary services may also be provided at an inpatient facility as appropriate.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.*

1. Ensure the following services are provided in the community by mobile crisis response members:
* Creation or further development of recovery plans and on-going support to promote care plan goals and objectives.
* Provision of individual services in a range of settings.
* Provision of crisis and hospital diversion services to individuals and families at high risk.
* Provide initial and follow-up phone and face to face assessments for clients who are at high risk to ensure stabilization and/or services were obtained.
* Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments as well as determine if the individual’s health and safety needs are compromised in order to determine a level of response needed to maintain the safety of the client or others.
* Develop viable safety plans to support the individual in crisis.
* Provide referral services to individuals in crisis requesting assistance or 3rd party referral sources to provide community stabilization services to the identified individual in crisis, including linkage to a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR).Assist non-Medicaid individuals to access Medicaid as appropriate.

2. Facilitate use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.

3. Maintain and provide required data as specified in the SCRBH-ASO Crisis Response Services Provider Guide.

4. Obtain necessary training for team members to increase their skills for engaging clients so less restrictive alternatives to inpatient psychiatric admissions can be utilized.

5. Provide weekly supervision to each assigned mobile crisis response member.

6. Cover shifts as needed.

7. Be involved in quality improvement projects to assist the team in being successful at diverting inpatient admissions.

8. Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner. Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience, as well as establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with FBH staff.

9. Maintain working relationships with the courts, attorneys, private psychiatrists, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative persons at inpatient psychiatric facilities throughout the state, staff of other agencies, advocate and consumer groups and citizens.

10. Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.

11. Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.

12. Participate in peer review, supervision, educational and administrative meetings as directed.

13. Other duties as assigned.

*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
* Must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active drivers’ license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work
* Demonstrated ability to supervise.
* Demonstrated ability to train and supervise staff in crisis service delivery, case conceptualization and assure staff compliance with administrative requirements.
* Must possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to send and receive oral and written messages, in a clear, positive, prompt, and appropriate manner, while maintaining customer confidentiality.
* Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statutes pertaining to the treatment and delivery of crisis services.
* Capacity to work cooperatively, independently, and creatively in order to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
* Capacity to display a positive, optimistic, accepting attitude toward staff, clients, and the community.
* Sensitivity to individuals’ unique cultural characteristics, and to the challenges faced by the socioeconomically disadvantaged.

1. Master's degree in the behavioral sciences

2. Two years post master's degree experience in crisis intervention and the direct provision of mental health treatment services

3.At the time of hire, must have applied for one of the following WA State Department of Health credentials:

(a) Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) *OR*

(b) License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) *OR*

(c) Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) *OR*

(d) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) *AND THEN*

(e) Credential must be Active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently meeting preferred licensure credential requirement below under _*PREFERRED.*_

4. Meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC .
