Frontend Developer

Job Title: Front-End Developer (React/Next.js)

Location :Northfield/Chicago, IL

Overview: Our Client is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer with a strong background in React and Next.js to join our software development team. This role involves designing and implementing solutions for various business initiatives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to continuously improve and expand their skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, deploy, and support software for business and commerce needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects
• Participate in code reviews
• Foster DevOps practices within the team
• Navigate ambiguous and complex business problems
• Apply TDD, Pair Programming, and Mob Programming concepts
• Adhere to established coding standards
• Facilitate design meetings with users, management, and architects
• Analyze production issues to determine root cause and resolution
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices
• Write documentation to ensure proper use of software systems
• Adhere to IST Department policies and best practices
• Maintain a professional demeanor
• Collaborate productively with all levels of Medline employees
• Follow Medline’s Code of Ethics and other corporate policies
• Support production environment availability when needed

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in React 16+ and Next.js
• Strong knowledge of server-side rendering (SSR)
• Familiarity with React tools such as hooks, Webpack, Node.js, JSX, and Babel
• Experience with unit testing frameworks like Jest, Karma, and Jasmine
• Proficiency in TypeScript and ES6 JavaScript
• Expertise in SCSS, LESS, CSS3, and HTML5
• Understanding of version control tools like BitBucket, Git, or SVN
• Knowledge of SEO best practices
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles and MV* patterns
• Experience interfacing with REST APIs
• Familiarity with both Object-Oriented and Functional Programming
• Cloud experience, preferably with Azure

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Bootstrap
• Knowledge of Micro Front End Patterns (Single SPA, Module Federation, etc.)
• Familiarity with mobile frameworks like Ionic and Cordova
• Experience with build tools like npm and yarn
• Understanding of accessibility standards
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines, CI/CD, and Docker Desktop
• Familiarity with Prisma Cloud
• Experience with Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of deployment strategies for React-based projects
