If yes, Blossman Gas, Inc., one of America's largest independent propane companies seek qualified individuals to apply for an open Junior Staff Accountant (A/P emphasis) position at our Home Office in Ocean Springs, MS.Founded in 1951, Blossman Gas is one of America's largest independent gas companies with more than 85 retail locations, 1000+employees, and continued growth ahead. Due to our company's culture, these positions have little turnover for those seeking in-office, M-F contributions.The primary responsibilities for the Jr. Staff Accountant (A/P emphasis) include:Daily processing of check requests and vendor invoices for a large volume of company accounts. This includes receiving, processing, and verifying the payment of invoices within a specific Accounting software system.Regular, professional verbal and written communication with vendors and company employeesPerform regular data entry associated with Accounts PayableReview and reconcile any invoice discrepanciesConduct monthly reporting; utilize specific software programs and new technologyAssist with the annual audit as requested; collaborate with other Accounting-related functions to help the businessContribute to a team environmentQualifications that best suit the position include:High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field of study preferredAccounts Payables experience preferredProficient in MS Office particularly MS Excel; able to learn and retain new software programs as directed by the needs of the businessExcellent analytical skills; ability to resolve complex problemsSolid organizational skills; attention to detail; self-starterAbility to meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communications skillsPositive attitude; ability to work well in a team environmentAbility to accept new layers of responsibility as the mastery of our A/P processes happen; accept feedback and coaching well; apply continuous improvement approaches to the department and our overall businessBlossman Gas provides a competitive salary commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
