Responsibilities
- Follow process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and both verbal and written instructions.
- Machine, install, or re-cut chuck jaws as needed.
- Secure tooling in machine turrets and perform machine setups.
- Download and upload programs into machines, making minor programming adjustments when necessary.
- Operate various types of computerized numerical controls to produce finished machined products, performing a wide range of machining operations within tight tolerances.
- Inspect your own work to ensure correct dimensions and maintain company quality and quantity standards, completing required documentation. You may also need to inspect the work of other machinists.
- Operate multiple machines and work in rotating departments as required.
- Enter data into the ERP system.
- Load and unload component piece parts weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Person with US permanent residence (US Citizen or Green Card holder).
- Proven experience and proficiency in operating CNC lathe, CNC mill machines, or resistance spot welders (any combination of two machines), with intermediate knowledge and experience in machine setups.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Dependable with minimal call-offs; excellent attendance is valued.
- At least 2 years of related experience, with knowledge of machining principles and methods for CNC machine tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must be able to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints in English.
- External candidates must pass a Machinist test measuring mechanical aptitude.
