Plumbing/HVAC Service HelperThe Plumbing/HVAC Service Helper assists the Service Technicians with assembling, installation and repairing plumbing/med gas systems and HVAC systems. The systems may consist of pipes, fittings, fixtures, boilers, furnaces, air conditioners, med gas/drainage systems and roof top systems.Core Functions:Assist in diagnosing problems and/or failures in a variety of HVAC systems or plumbing and gas systems.Repair and install various types of piping including iron, steel, copper and PVC.Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems.Operate powered equipment including hand tools, stationary machines and others as required.Maintain a high-quality initiative while completing assigned duties.Receive daily direction from supervisors on the job site and actively participate in training.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Basic knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems or willingness to learn.Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.Good communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read and understand safety guidelines and work orders.Basic math skills for measuring and calculating materials.Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED required.1-2 years of HVAC or plumbing preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required.Comfortable working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.Manual dexterity to handle tools and small parts.Ability to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and outdoor conditions.Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely perform tasks and communicate effectively.Ability to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.Disclaimer:The above declarations are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job described, nor are they intended to be such a listing of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
