Temporary Administrative Specialist
Location: Mariposa County, California; Merced County, California; Monterey County, California; San Benito County, California; Santa Cruz County, California
ABOUT THIS TEMP POSITION
This is a temporary position and the length of assignment is estimated to go from November 2024 to February 2025. The length of the assignment is always dependent on business need and dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, if selected, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency that we would connect you with.
WHAT YOU‘LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position:
- Performs multiple high-level administrative functions in support of a Chief Officer or Department Director
- Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of departmental operations and management staff
- Coordinates and supports various standing committees and ad hoc meetings

- Knowledge of:
- General administrative procedures and the methods of providing executive level support
- Standard business office practices, recordkeeping systems, and office equipment
- Principles and practices of meeting coordination and scheduling
- Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and business correspondence format
- Windows based PC systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the roles, organization, policies and procedures of the department to which assigned
- Define issues, gather and interpret data, define options, and choose among alternatives in performing a variety of assignments without instruction
- Exercise independent judgement in the absence of specific direction
- Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and administer competing operational priorities
- Schedule, support, and coordinate committees and meetings, including agenda and minute preparation and distribution
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience, including a minimum of three years performing executive level administrative support (an Associate‘s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment, and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
- In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below.
The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate‘s qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
OUR BENEFITS
Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
