As an Avionics Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the New Glenn Rocket program, collaborating with a skilled team to design, develop, and qualify critically important avionics' hardware, enabling reliable and reusable spaceflight to advance our vision of millions living and working in space.As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will directly contribute to the planning, selection, development, sourcing and acceptance of avionics hardware for next generation of launch vehicles. In a fast-paced dynamic environment, you will play a crucial role in the integration and support of new avionics' hardware for the New Glenn program. You will work closely with GNC engineers, electrical, mechanical, software, systems engineering, configuration & data management and assembly, integration & test, to ensure that the hardware components meet the requirements and perform as expected. Additionally, you will be involved in troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related issues during production, integration, post-flight phases.Note: This position is a 12 month fixed-term position with full benefits.Responsibilities: Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signalSelection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wireUnderstanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shieldingBuild 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling and Routed System Designer (RSD)Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data setsDesign and integration of harness support bracketsSupport design configuration development and trade studiesProvide technical guidance for hardware installationSupport the assembly and testing of cables and harnessesMaintain and report on activity schedule and technical statusFind opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savingsWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is requiredMinimum Qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industryExperience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD)Understanding and application of wire derating analysisFamiliar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD softwarePreferred Qualifications: Experience with Pro/E PipingExperience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical RoutingKnowledge of harness fabrication and installation processesExperience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systemsCompensation Range for:CA applicants is $126,898.00-$177,656.85;CO applicants is $116,323.00-$162,851.85;WA applicants is $126,898.00-$177,656.85Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
