Human Resources Analyst B, C or SpecialistHuman Resources Analyst/Specialist serve as the point of contact for our operations/benefits team who assists with benefits, retirement, and operational inquiries. Candidates with the following skills and competencies are encouraged to apply: Accepting direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions. Demonstrating accountability: The ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes. Thinking critically: The ability to analyze information objectively, identify connections across sources, and form logical, well-supported conclusions.Minimum qualifications: Four years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus one year of human resources experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus one year of human resources experience; OR An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate. Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.Job duties: As a Human Resources Analyst/Specialist, you'll help create a positive impression for every person who requires HR assistance. In this role, you will: Greet employees with kindness and professionalism, enter employees into the system for LDOE hires, verify their information, and assist with completing any necessary paperwork, answer incoming calls, route messages, and provide requested information about HR services, run payroll and other reports regularly to be proactive with bi-weekly assignments, support the team with everyday tasks as needed.Position-specific details: Appointment type: Probational, promotional, or job appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Human Resources Analyst B, C, or Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
