Our entrepreneurial culture combines agility and innovation with sophisticated technology and operations that rival the largest e-commerce companies.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Logistics & Distribution Manager to oversee inbound and outbound transportation, retail fulfillment, and international freight operations across the U.S. and Europe. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, compliant delivery of bedding products to major retail partners and distribution channels while managing freight, brokerage, and third-party logistics providers.This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational judgment, comfort working with large retail organizations, and direct experience managing international shipments and bulk outbound freight. You'll coordinate complex logistics operations across multiple geographies, manage carrier relationships, and ensure we meet our commitments to major retail partners while optimizing cost and service performance.Key Operational Scope:You'll own end-to-end logistics operations including inbound scheduling from international suppliers, outbound distribution to retail partners, international freight coordination with European operations, and 3PL/carrier management. You'll work closely with warehouse operations, customer service, sales, and purchasing teams to align delivery commitments and resolve logistics challenges in real time.AI-First OrganizationWe're a world-class tech team leading the use of AI to build internal tooling and drive operational excellence. You'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the evolution of automation inside the business, enable AI across your role, and provide input into the development of internal tools and resources. You'll collaborate directly with our engineering team and automations team to build out these capabilities.Goals & ResponsibilitiesInbound & Outbound SchedulingCoordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments across domestic and international lanesManage dock scheduling, carrier appointments, and delivery windowsOptimize routing, consolidation, and load planning for bulky, high-volume bedding productsTrack and maintain accurate documentation for all inbound receipts and outbound shipmentsAnalyze freight performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and service improvementsRetail Fulfillment & ComplianceServe as primary logistics contact for major retail partners (e.g., national retail chains)Ensure compliance with retailer routing guides, ASNs, labeling, and appointment requirementsMonitor and resolve chargebacks, delivery exceptions, and service failuresProactively manage escalations and maintain strong relationships with retail logistics teamsCoordinate with warehouse operations to meet retail delivery windows and order accuracy requirementsInternational Freight & BrokerageOversee international shipments to and from Europe, including ocean and air freightCoordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and overseas partnersEnsure proper documentation, Incoterms alignment, customs clearance, and regulatory complianceTrack international transit timelines and proactively manage delays or disruptionsMaintain detailed records of international shipments and customs documentationCarrier & 3PL ManagementNegotiate and manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providersMonitor KPIs related to cost, on-time delivery, and service performanceSupport annual freight bid processes and continuous cost-improvement initiativesMaintain carrier scorecards and address performance issuesOperational Leadership & Process ImprovementDevelop and maintain logistics SOPs, performance metrics, and reporting dashboardsCollaborate with sales, customer service, operations, and purchasing teams to align delivery commitmentsDrive continuous improvement in service reliability, cost efficiency, and scalabilityLog and track all logistics data systematically for analysis and reportingPotential to lead and mentor logistics coordinator(s) as operations scaleRequired Skills & ExperienceCore Experience (Required)3-7 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management with demonstrated progression of responsibilityDirect hands-on experience with retail fulfillment to large national chains (routing guides, ASNs, chargeback management)Proven experience managing international freight forwarding and customs brokerage operationsStrong track record coordinating inbound and outbound transportation schedulingExperience negotiating with and managing 3PL providers and carrier relationshipsHighly detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping disciplineExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing competing retail partner deadlines and escalationsTechnical & Systems SkillsProficiency with WMS, TMS, or ERP systems for logistics and inventory managementStrong Excel skills for data analysis, tracking, and reportingAbility to build and maintain logistics dashboards and performance reportsComfortable learning new systems and operational tools quickly (Monday.com, n8n automation)Logistics & Supply Chain KnowledgeStrong working knowledge of ocean and air freight operationsUnderstanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and international trade complianceExperience with LTL, FTL, and parcel carrier managementFamiliarity with retail compliance requirements and chargeback mitigation strategiesLeadership & CollaborationAbility to work cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, customer service, and purchasing teamsStrong relationship-building
