Job Opportunity At Sarasota County GovernmentSarasota County Government is seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time position in the Financial Management department. The salary range for this role is $50,024.00 - $58,240.00 annually and is based in Sarasota, FL.This position involves professional and advanced work in developing, implementing, updating, analyzing, and maintaining a multi-year operating fiscal plan. The role requires strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.Job responsibilities include:Coordinating with department staff to prepare operating budgets.Providing training and guidance on financial matters.Developing processes and spreadsheets to assist with forecasting needs and monitoring budgets.Compiling and coordinating periodic reports on the status of expenditures, revenues, and other financial issues.Forecasting, managing, and maintaining moderately-complex funds.Assisting with the review and/or updating of various fee and rate studies and models.Creating and processing budget resolutions, administrative appropriation transfers, journal entries, and payment requests.Providing funding information/reviewing eGenda items for accuracy and completeness.Performing a variety of analysis of financial issues.Occasionally presenting or developing information for the BCC, administration, directors, and public boards.Working with the Office of the County Attorney to develop or revise ordinances, inter-local agreements, and other legal documents.Performing special projects/analysis/reporting in response to management and customer driven demand.Partnering with departments and other agencies to develop innovative approaches for meeting fiscal challenges.Assisting with coaching, mentoring, and training of employees.Demonstrating the values and behaviors that support a high performing organization.Work hours are Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other related field and minimum of 34 years of progressively responsible experience. A Master's Degree in a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. Related experience or certifications may substitute for the required education.This posting is currently open until filled.
