Position: Substation Journeyman


Location: Phoenix, AZ (ONSITE – Must reside in Arizona)


Summary:


  • Looking for a Substation Journeyman to work with the Substation Maintenance Team
  • Experience with performing Journeyman-level high voltage substation duties with an electric utility or other entity operating and maintaining high voltage substation equipment is preferred
  • The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (AZ/MST)


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform Journeyman-level high voltage substation duties, including operating and maintaining high voltage substation equipment
  • Write and execute switching orders
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as needed


Qualifications:


  • 1+ year of experience as an Electrician
  • Experience with performing Journeyman-level high voltage substation duties with an electric utility or other entity operating and maintaining high voltage substation equipment is preferred
  • Experienced in writing and executing switching orders is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have completed a Registered Electrician Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program
  • Must currently have a valid manual Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no mechanical restrictions and ability to meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • Must live within a reasonable distance (1 hour) from assigned Headquarters
  • Subject to Overtime and/or Out-of-Town assignments
  • Qualifying Tests may be given
  • This position requires working with Aerial Equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 lbs. or less
  • Must be self-motivated, communicate and work well with others, as well as possess a positive attitude with the highest commitment to work safety
