Senior Distribution Engineer

Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Distribution Engineer, who is responsible for providing the review and development of distribution design standards



Requirements:

  • Four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • 7 years’ experience designing distribution assets for electric utilities
  • NESC code experience and should be very familiar (would need to understand the certain calculations that they need to make within the code)
  • Experience with Asset management/scope- setting up poles and circuit upgrades and re-routing
  • Professional engineering license is a plus


Responsibilities:

  • Understand and review distribution design drawings
  • Ensure sound engineering principles are employed and in accordance with all applicable codes (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and federal, state, local codes
  • Familiarity with using the NESC Code. In example, calculating clearances
  • Provide support in prioritizing distribution design work at various service centers
  • Set up meetings, take meeting notes, and develop a rotation schedule to visit service centers
  • Attend field meetings at distribution OH and UG sites, in support of distribution design work
  • Review, mark-up, and finalize distribution design standards
