Police Officers enforce laws and ensure the safety and security of the City of Portland and its citizens. This is accomplished by patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency situations, completing investigation/incident reports, attending community meetings, patrolling special events, and delivering crime-prevention presentations within the community. May perform other related work as required. This position is subject to the City of Portland's Background Investigation and Drug Testing Policy. The City verifies all information prior to extending an offer of employment.
