Job Summary

Better Being is looking for an Operations Manager of Planning and Scheduling who is responsible for releasing individual finished good items to production work centers according to sales demand, sales forecast estimate and new product launches. Job duties and responsibilities include ensuring the production process goes smoothly by ensuring all appropriate components are in place on time and scheduled to go to production.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews Material Plan (Infor M3 software) daily for suggested finished goods (FG) items to schedule for manufacturing work centers based on assigned responsible planner, due dates, machine capacity, forecasted sales, customer orders and inventory levels
  • Ensures FG item Bill of Material (BOM) is using correct product version and no BOM shortages are present before releasing to work center.
  • Updates data file notes of current item shortages with root cause analysis, corrective actions, estimated in stock dates to release Manufacturing Order (MO)
  • Builds and publishes daily MO schedule(s) for Liquid, Powder and Bottling work centers based on assigned responsibility, machine line capacity, level of priority and input from work center managers and distribution
  • Reviews Product Lifetime Management software (Optiva) for new product updates which can include: Planning group task signoffs for BOM updates, new product items, closeouts, discontinued items and new versions requiring update to BOMs
  • Communicates closely with other Planners and managers in Label print ship, Tablets/Pills, Powder, and Special packaging work centers to efficiently release and schedule MOs
  • Works with Brand Managers, Purchasing, and production to work through versioning changes to FGs and components to find ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Closing Manufacturing orders for work centers, issuing components to work orders, scanning paperwork, making inventory adjustments, and checking inventory.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities, including filling in for others as needed.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • College Degree.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, Spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Experience with demand planning and supply chain is preferred.
  • Practical experience with Infor M3 or Optiva PLM software is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
