Job Summary

Responsible for a territory covering the Northeast, the Sales Manager at Golen Malted plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient distribution of our delicious waffle products to our valued customers. This position requires a dynamic individual who possesses a unique blend of sales acumen, leadership skills, and logistical expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Performance. Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding the customer base within assigned territories.
  • Customer Relationship Management. Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership. Lead and motivate a team of route sales representatives to achieve sales targets, adhere to company policies and procedures, and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Training and Development. Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to route sales representatives to enhance their sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service abilities.
  • Inventory Management. Monitor inventory levels, place orders as needed, and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste and optimize product freshness.
  • Route Management. Partner with internal specialists to ensure the optimization and design of delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of waffle products to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety standards, transportation laws, and company policies.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, route management, or a similar role within the food or beverage industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other workplace technologies.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively leading and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to maintain valid DOT certifications.
