Organic Robotics Corporation/LLume is a Cornell University spin-off company in its fourth year of growth. Presently, it is commercializing Light Lace®, a patented fiber-optic sensor technology for motion capture, muscle activity, and respiration measurements. We are making products using Light Lace® under the brand name LLume (). Presently, we are laser focused on using this technology to provide cardiopulmonary insights to improve fitness; however, this technology platform has limitless application beyond this first product category.


  • Light Lace® sensors are made of a soft, flexible material that can be woven into clothing or attached to the skin. It is washable, comfortable to wear, and can be used to collect data in real time.

  • ORC's technology is being used by athletes, coaches, and researchers to improve athletic performance, prevent injuries, and track rehabilitation progress in the near future.
  • The company is also exploring the use of Light Lace® for other applications, such as healthcare, fitness, industrial safety, and DoD relevant issues.

Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mobile App Developer proficient in Android and iOS platforms, with a strong background in AWS (Amazon Web Services). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications that complement our wearable technology products. This individual will work closely with our cross-functional team to innovate, iterate, and deliver exceptional user experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms.
  • Collaborate with the team to define app features and functionality.
  • Implement clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of mobile applications.
  • Integrate mobile applications with backend services and APIs, particularly leveraging AWS.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize app performance and user satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by users or internal testing teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in mobile app development and AWS technologies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Proven experience developing and publishing mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as SwiftUI, Objective-C, Java, or Kotlin.
  • Solid understanding of mobile app architectures, UI/UX principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, etc.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cross-platform mobile app development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
