Position Summary:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for managing the sales organization, distribution channels, and deployment of sales for the organization. Responsible for developing a strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth, increase market share and customer satisfaction for the organization. Responsibilities include business and market development, customer management, management of market research, competitive analysis, strategic direction for promotion and advertising, sales growth and customer satisfaction. Oversee sales and customer service team members; determine and monitor department's KPIs such as revenue vs. plan, contact rate, quote closure rate and gross profit margins. Participate in corporate succession planning activities, write and deliver employee reviews, monitor employee morale and create a positive working environment.


What you will be doing:

  • Promote company products and services
  • Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions
  • Develop plans and strategies
  • Develop and manage yearly sales and marketing budgets
  • Manage sales and customer service team
  • Organize and maintain sales operation
  • Motivate the sales team to achieve goals
  • Monitor market and competitor activity
  • Improve customer satisfaction by anticipating consumer needs
  • Identify where improvements can be made and develop success-driven plans
  • Manage detailed sales expectations and plan accordingly
  • Monitor customer activity; create sales reports
  • Communicate and foster relationships with clients
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors
  • Establish short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Consult with Engineering, Operations, and Quality departments


What you need to qualify:

  • 7+ years of experience in the field or related area
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
  • Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts
  • Possess professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Possess knowledge of competitive products and markets
  • Demonstrate patience with reluctant or frustrated clients
  • Possess strong persuasive abilities
  • Demonstrate solid motivational and leadership skills
  • Maintains a professional but confident and outgoing demeanor
  • Travel required: domestic and international to meet clients, attend conferences and relevant trade shows
