We are seeking a psychologist to join our growing psychology team. This position is administratively housed in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and services are provided to student athletes at the collegiate level. Opportunities exist to develop and grow clinical services/programs for these athletes. This position will offer an opportunity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team providing care for student athletes with pre-existing behavioral health conditions and new onset of behavioral health conditions as related to sports injury recovery and sports performance.

This position offers excellent opportunities to participate in training and research, based on candidate s interest. Faculty at Akron Children s Hospital are active in the training of psychology and neuropsychology fellows, psychology practicum students, as well as medical residents and fellows. Research opportunities are abundant for faculty with interest. Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology/sports psychology/counseling psychology including completion of an internship in an APA/CPA-accredited program, eligibility for licensure in Ohio, and completion of a formal fellowship/postdoctoral program are required. Experience with athletes at the elite and collegiate levels is preferred. CMPC certification preferred. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
