Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Production Scheduler at Graphic Packaging International, Inc. located in Chicago, IL. As a Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize production efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products, monitor inventory levels, and analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, you will maintain documentation and communicate production schedules to relevant stakeholders.


Job Functions

  • Coordinates the scheduling of all machines, processes, and production activities within the plants. Responsible for customer on-time shipment performance.
  • Recommends and assists the Production Control Manager with long-range capacity requirements planning and defining capital equipment and manpower needs.
  • Ensures adequate plant inventory levels for work-in-process and finished goods and optimizes inventory investments in relationship to plant efficiencies and scrap rates.
  • Coordinates information flow to the operating departments and production schedules.
  • Coordinates with Plant Information Systems Analyst to support integrated manufacturing software.
  • Create a schedule for equipment.
  • Updates daily schedule to balance efficiencies and customer needs.
  • Maintains appropriate safety stocks of finished goods inventory.
  • Maintains raw material inventories to maximize inventory turns and remain operational. 
  • Monitors slow-moving material.
  • Maintains work in process inventories to maximize inventory turns and productivity.
  • Ensures scheduling maintains shipping commitments for effective customer service and advises customer service-changed instead of sales of unplanned delays. 
  • Coordinates with the shipping department to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborates with operations departments to improve on-time delivery of materials.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 5 years of manufacturing experience in consumer packaging preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sheeting, Printing, and Die Cutting processes are a plus.
  • TBOX knowledge is a plus.
  • Must have specialized scheduling training in planning and layout.
  • Prior customer service experience is a plus.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail skills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in production scheduling or planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software and MS Office Suite
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
