The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the layout, design, and integration of electrical systems into drawings of custom power and control products for manufacture. You'll work in a small team of experienced professionals within a company on the cutting edge of digital infrastructure, power distribution and green power solutions.


Requirements


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Electrical design deliverables on a variety of projects and solutions such as one-line diagrams, control schematics, submittal packages, bill of materials, etc.
  • Confirm accuracy of project materials quoted to customers, including the review of vendor bid packages and submittals for technical accuracy
  • Perform branch circuits and feeder calculations on power distribution equipment, as well as specifying and sizing components
  • Design, construct, commission and troubleshoot of electrical and switchgear including a solid understanding of the following principles and equipment: commissioning, electrical distribution systems, transformers, and Switchgear.
  • Experience with medium voltage projects, designing single lines, interconnecting wiring diagrams, and copper bussing, with medium voltage equipment. 
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Work with the Production, Procurement, Project Management, and Sales teams on continuous improvement opportunities


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 7-15 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment
  • Solid knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Solid knowledge of the design, building, and maintenance of low voltage (600 volts and below) power distribution systems
  • Solid knowledge to perform load calculations on machine and control panels per NEC and UL 508A
  • Solid knowledge of Office-based software systems
  • Solid knowledge of computer-aided design (ACADE / AutoCAD Electrical / Solidworks) and to design and document electrical schematics and power distribution systems
  • Experience preferred with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing and documentation
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of machine engineering and the building of production and other equipment
  • Experience with programmable devices in the area of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motion-control, human-machine interfaces and instrumentation
  • Solid skills in developing and maintaining effective work relationships with production personnel, electrical technicians, and control panel builders
  • Solid skills working with, and knowledge of the use of all electrical test equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics, and mechanical diagrams
  • Ability to inspect the quality of work performed for flaws and mistakes
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner on several projects at the same time
