Your new company
Our client is one of Houston’s leading heavy civil contractors who operate in the civil highway and municipal construction market. They self-perform all of their work and specialize in earthwork, underground utilities and concrete paving. They work on both TxDOT and municipal projects ranging from $1Mill up to $30Mill.They have an excellent reputation in the market and have been in Houston for over 40 years.
Your new role
You will work as part of the estimating team preparing complete estimates for municipal projects – specifically focusing on concrete and underground utilities. You will be required to liaise and work closely with owners, vendors, subcontractors and project managers. You will also be required to train .manage and mentor junior estimators. Some of your duties will include initial contact with the client, review purchase orders, prepare complete estimates as well as provide technical assistance where required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a minimum of 5 year’s experience as well as a background estimating utilities and concrete A bachelor’s degree would be ideal but relevant experience will also be considered. Experience using Heavy bid as well as strong technical skills in necessary. You will also have a strong time management skills and pride yourself on attention to detail.
