The Opportunity


As a Compactor-Baler Repair Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining sophisticated waste management equipment. Your skills will directly contribute to reducing environmental impact and improving operational efficiency for businesses across Los Angeles.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Diagnose and repair complex issues in trash compactors and balers, including electrical and hydraulic components
  • Perform on-site repairs for various equipment, including balers, tarps, and chutes
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and interface with programming when necessary
  • Maintain detailed repair logs and communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Assemble power units and engage in mechanical or welding tasks as needed
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and new technologies


Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as a compactor technician or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and hydraulics
  • Proficiency in welding and using diagnostic tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Experience with limit switches, photo-eye sensors, and/or solenoids (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to job sites
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Schedule & Location


  • Base: Los Angeles, CA
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (overtime and on-call opportunities available)
